(Wooo, first post in the forums no less)
For those who are interested, here are the "before" and after shots for the svn server move.
The before shots are where everything used to live. It looks worse than it was as I've not cleaned up the desk yet after tearing everything out to get it moved as quickly as possible.
Really, one of the best parts of this was when were were stringing cable, I turned around to find something to climb on, turned back around, and found that zacam had already climbed the side of the rack and was hanging the cables.
And the last one, while it's not my date centre, don't you just wish you had one as cool as that? :lol:

Panties, sure. If you want privacy the server room is usually a good place.
But dirty panties? Has someone mistaken them for a dust rag? I don't think any female would actually wear those...

You do realise it's going to take at least half a page for people to get over the women's underwear before anyone actually mentions the hardware ;)
Certainly looks a lot better than the previous pics, if nothing else, it gets rid of the need to be double jointed that seems to come with most computer desks.

I noticed that the pic of the panties in the server room was viewed a lot more than the rest of them. Wonder what that says about the bulk of the forum population. ;7

It is also planned out this time. :)
The old setup at the desk in my bedroom (hey, I found the sound of the fans and drives soothing and comforting in a way) was originally a half-height case for my original server hardware, a Pentium 120, when I was single and just got the place. From there, it just kind of grew to what it is now, hardware wise. It was well past time to move it into the rack and out of what was basically the corner of the room.
Next up is to get my Intel switch modified with better fans (and some rack ears) and get the new hardware for the firewall running.

/me does not. He just sees rev on IRC once in a while and treats him he does Mura.

Actually the panties are gross and I wouldn't want to see that. Strange that the picture was taken too, let alone it being in that room. Plus, it isn't even important to show; the technology is what this is about. I only viewed that 4th pic because I couldn't tell what it was until I clicked the pic to get a closer look and it is still hard to tell what it is..
I originally found that picture on The Register.
That monitor looks fairly sleek.
My old Dell 2005FPW, it's a really good display, too bad they don't make it any longer. I really wish I could have picked up a pair of them when I got that one. As much as I would love to have a panel like that for the racked machines, I'm not using my only LCD for that. :)
