Title: New installation with 3.6.10: What do I need

Since http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=7ricjolhrsmbj6eqjdtd2vamn7&topic=46261.0 obviously isn't up to date any more, could somebody give me a short step-by-step instruction on what I need to do after installing FS2 from the CDs?

I've update some info on the Wiki.  Should be up to date now.
