Maybe someday the SCP team will redo the mainhalls to increase their detail level and the level of detail being the only modification.

:wtf:

Sure if you want to work on high detailed models and textures and slap them onto a few hundred frames...

I've always thought that this was just some deck in the ship.
There's no fighters anywhere, unlike in the Terran mainhalls.

Nope, a Serapis comes up out of a hole in the middle on an elevator thing and flies outside.

I thought that it was always outside, it just does a flyby.

No, watch the mainhall for a while (shouldn't be more than 30 seconds or so.)

Oh hey wow it does.
A sled with jets comes up, launches a Serapis, and retrieves a Tauret.
I guess where it flies out to connects to the tube?

That always seemed like a terribly inefficient system to launch fighters, though it might explain the only one wing at a time thing.

Also, the Bastion's hangar has the gaping hole in it, rather than the conventional Orion hole.

The thing is that to make an HQ mainhall (even 1) it would take a massive amount of texturing, animation and probably coding to do, as well as the fact that the mainhall alone would be several hundred MBs (source: somewhere on the INF board).

I sorta got what you were saying, but as cole said, do you realize the sheer amount of work that would go into doing something like that.  Not to mention the fact that there are no original models for reference, and the fact that the game still only supports 1024x768 interface art, which it already is.

The fighters are down the hole. A thruster-powered lift brings them up to the launch ramp where they take off. Very inefficient but whatever.

I wonder how they make things like mainhalls. Maybe some special programs.

No special program, just a big, complicated, animated mesh that gets rendered.

I thought that too the first time I saw it. :v: sacrificed a lot in the name of the rule of cool as far as realism is concerned.

That's already been pointed out...
You miss a page?
