These are the trailers of the anime versions of Iron Man and Wolverine, both done by Madhouse. The Iron Man trailer is nice but I didnt like the prettyboy villian, the high quality of the whole thing is easy to see, I'm not expecting something incredible but at the very least it'll be fun and thats something these days.

Now the Wolverine one is a whole other story, I dont like the character (dull story, he's overrated and Marvel has sick obsession with him) but a bishonen Wolverine is just wrong to see.

I'm sorry. :(

Ugh... The Wolverine one looks like a completely different franchise, he's gone from a 40+ grumpy Canadian to an Emo teen with purple hair?
Agree about the Iron Man trailer, it did at least look quite interesting and fun, even if his enemy looked like one of the Village People.

if there is one western super hero Japan can do right it would be Iron Man.

The Iron Man one looks pretty sweet, hell after all it can't be worse than that other animated piece of **** marvel put out.
Wolverine . . .meh. Wtf Wolverine meets Ninja Scroll or something?
But hey, don't dis the Japanese, even Marvel can't get Wolverine right. They cast Hugh Jackman after all. Wolverine's supposed to be a short little bugger, not some 6 foot tall lanky guy.

Okay I'm with the others here on this. That Iron Man one was pretty sweet but the Wolverine didn't feel like Wolverine at all.

I don't really see the huge issue with the Wolverine video. I mean, we've already had the yellow-spandex-wearing, burly-he-man version in animated form in the 90s cartoon, and that's just one of several different television/movie takes on the character. I'd rather have Madhouse take their own stab at him and do something different than just rehashing the same old archetype. That video wasn't very traditional, but it was certainly rather badass.

I didn't even think it was that to be honest, it was way too delicate with the rose petals and the fact the Wolverine appears to have a severe case of carpal muscle syndrome. Add to that the fact the blades come out from between his fingers, instead of his knuckles, and it all just gives an overall feeling of 'Not Wolverine, but really wishes it was' kind of cartoon.
Edit: Thing is, Wolverine is old, now, I will say in that cartoons' defence that ir could have happened at any period in history, and I don't have any problem with them covering his 'teen' years (though they took place on a plantation in Georgia, but hey, this is Marvel, so anything goes in that respect) but it just doesn't 'feel' like him, no beserker rage, no feel of a 'Wolverine' about him at all. I still think some of my favourite depictions of him come from the Video Game trailers...

Wolverine has gone through enough writers at this point I don't think you can realistically claim something is not like him.

Except the above picture.

I dunno. I took one look at it and went, "Mmmmm, caek." out loud in my office.
