Serves them right for devolution. The British government would have let him rot in jail until he was a vegetable (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/norfolk/8172555.stm). :p

Seriously though. I don't think the evidence that convicted him was that strong.

Not really, you've gotta remember that Ronnie Biggs fled the country for 30 years and only came back for free health care and to die in England. I'm not usually a hard-hearted man but I until I heard about his strokes I was quite happy to let him die in prison. He knew that was what would happen if he came back anyway.

And on the subject of Biggs, don't forget that it wasn't just a big robbery:

Biggs and his pals were violent thugs, and remorse seems to be in short supply.

I save my compassion for those who need it.  The only compassion I would give to someone who was convicted such an act and fled, rather than fight to prove his innocence is the compassion of the grave.  Which from the sound of it, would be preferable to the living hell this guy is living in.

I think the karma chameleon is involved here somehow. I did try looking for a demotivational pic but seems noones made a play on words like that yet.

Love your enemies. Do good to those who hurt you.

True, but even Christ wouldn't shake the hand of someone who would gnaw your guts out with the other hand.

Yes, Christ and Liberator are drinking buddies. But to be fair, Christ had probably knocked back a few tequilas when he said he wouldn't shake that guy's hand. When the Lord drinketh, he often forgeteth what maketh him admirable.

Man this does bring up a lot of feelings as i am originally from Lockerbie and was there when it happened. I like a lot of people from the area didn't believe that he was main guy behind it and he may of had some part into it but he was turned into a scapegoat.
