A buddy of mine just today put a fresh install of FS2 and all the 3.6.10 stuff, registered with FS2Net, etc. He makes a new pilot, puts in his info in the PXO box in multi options, goes to the ready room... it starts recognizing him, logs him in, and immediately says "You have been disconnected from the server."
That's all I can really tell you; anyone know how to fix this issue?
-
When did this happen? The server was down earlier.
-
That couldn't have been it, because I was logged in at the same time on my machine.
-
Hmm, interesting.
It said I was disconnected a few hours ago as well. I had thought it was simply because the server had gone down for a while.
-
Now I think the server IS down. Is there anywhere you can 100% check the status of the PXO/FS2netD server?
edit: hijacking my own thread. I can no longer log in to the PXO/FS2net lobby.
edit 2: I can only log in after rebooting my computer, and even then I can only log in once. If I go to host a server, and come back, it fails to connect.
edit 3: starting from a fresh install.
edit 4: not helping one bit.
edit 5: fixed; problem was on user-end, not serverside. I had done some additional **** in the router settings that were unneccessary/redundant/still blocking the issue at hand. Closing thread.

Still haven't fixed the join-server issue though. I still can't see any of your games on the list.
-
Well, that's a deeper issue with the FS2NETD site.
At any rate, could you post the multi.log file here? It should be either in your data folder, or the mediavps\data folder, depending on whether or not you have the mediavps selected as a mod.

Sure thing. First one is from /data, second is mediavps/data. I was trying both with/without before I got it to work.

Delete the multi.cfg and pxo config file (Dunno the exact filename here, but it does have PXO somewhere in there) from your data folder

Can I ask why before I do so?

If you look at both the logs you supplied, you will find that the game complains about invalid tracker adresses. The config files you have still refer to the old multiplayer servers :V: set up back in the day; Those are no longer working. If you delete the config file, FSO will directly revert to the built-in defaults (the fs2netd tracker at GameWarden), without being confused by invalid settings.
