Post by: cw4rotorhead on August 16, 2009, 08:03:03 am
Do I create a new folder in the root TBP folder and point the launcher to it or just un-zip total into the root folder. I understand it has the updated launcher as well as 3.6.10 mediavp's ect, correct?

You have to create a new folder called Zathras. Move all the .vp files and readmes into that one.
Select it as a mod in the Launcher.

Unfortunatly the file will not un-zipp using 7-Zip. Get error message with all the 3.6.10 INF files and Launcher. I re-downloaded 3 times with same result.

At a total loss now.

Any Ideas????

Thanks

It would help if you would tell us what the error message is, you know.
Also, where did you try to download it from?

Here are the error messages:
Can not open output file "Shortcut to fred2_open_3_6_10..."
Can't open output file "fs2_open_3_6_10_INF.exe"
Can't open output file "fred2_open_3_6_10_INF.exe"
Can't open output file "fs2_open_3_6_10d_INF.exe"
Can't open output file "fred2_open_3_6_10d_INF.exe"
Can' open output file "Launcher.exe"

Those are what I get and I downloaded from mediafire.

Think that is it???

Thank you or your reply

Do the other files unzip OK?
If so, just move them to the Zathras folder, and get the 3.6.10 Inferno exes and the Launcher from the 3.6.10 Final release thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,64520.0.html).

Yes all the other ones are fine except for the 6 I mentioned.
I got the launcher and the Inferno files from the link you provided. Do I need the Source "fs2_open_3_6_10.tgz" also and if so how do I open a "tgz" file????

Thank again

No, you do NOT need the source code.

OK I downloaded all the 3.6.10 files and launcher. Do I just un-zip to the root folder or to a Zathras folder inside the root folder???
I noticed that all the 3.6 files were the 3.6.9 files so that is why I got both the regular and Inferno files was that correct???

Thank you Sir for your help

No. Any file with 3.6.9 in its name should be deleted.
No. You only need the Inferno executables, the regular ones are quite useless for TBP.
Yes, those files belong in the base TBP directory, where the old Launcher and old executables were.

OK so all the Zathras files go in the root directory and delete all 3.6.9 files along with the regular 3.6.1o files correct?

Thank you so much for your help

The only 3.6.10 files in the folder are INF files correct????

You have to create a new folder called Zathras. Move all the .vp files from the Zathras package and readmes into that one.
Select it as a mod in the Launcher.*

And yes, the 3.6.9 and regular 3.6.10 exes are useless for TBP. Delete them.

*I have a faint memory of saying something like that in this very thread....
