I made that (http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/blackwater/i_sol.php) BTW
bow before my 1337|\I355 ;7
-
*bows* ;)
The textures are great and that ring thing looks cool
-
Not bad. Still a tad too GTVA to be Sol, tho.
And some noyce texturing...
-
Two ;7s up! :D
-
Now THAT is what I call a well-designed ship. Very impressive.

I bow before your l33tness. ;) Wow, how friggin' big is it! Look at the size of those turrets on the back! ;)
-
That things's a bomber? Jesus....... either it's friggen huge or those turrets are really small.
-
it's only 95 meters long ;7
-
That's not a bomber any more....... :p
-
Neat :)
Surprisingly few vents & decals, though, from what I can tell.
I like decals.;7

And you know, if it's that big, the cockpit is way oversized.

Half a Leviathan! I like it... :D
-
Could make a very nice Corvette for IW2...
Reminds me of the command module in IW2...
Also reminds me of something massive and tank like I'd expect to find in Battlezone2...
Nice!

If we could get the COB of Bob (rhyme!), we could get Mikhael to do some magic with it... ;)

*bows* i'm not worthy, i'm not worthy :D

cokcpits, i think. Neat idea, actually - like a big WW2 bomber.
-
were gona have something like "at half the length of a leviathan, six turrets, and a crew of twenty to fifty the vanir is often refered to as a gunship though technicaly is designated as a bomber and targeting systems will identify it as such" and there is a bit of a debate about how many people should be in the crew, I say it sould have 20-50 depending on missions, kellan and Icefire think it sould only be like 10 at most, more like 3
and yes the cockpit is very large, I thought of the pilot being in the middle of a giant glass shpereicaloid, I was thinking of making a high resolution render model of it if I had the time, and yess it was largly inspired by the big WW2 bombers, it cockpit designt is one of the defining features of the SMC's next-gen fighters, as is the color sceam

For a vessel like that, I'd say 6 command staff (two per cockpit subsection), and a nominated amount of auxilary crew - which depends on the importance of the mission and the condition of the ship, as well as the ordinance on board.

No kidding. I'm surprised it can reach 60m/s. ;)
Manuverability: Very Poor
Figured as much... :D
-
actualy in my tables it says
Manuverability:... uh, what's Manuverability?
this even shows up in the loadout
-
Looks like a cross-between Command Section from IW2 and the Millenium Falcon. Not that that's bad, in fact, it's easily the coolest bomber I've seen yet!

You realize it's not that much bigger than the Ga******, right?
Great work, by the way.
-
i like the textures, but the bomber itself just looks like a flying brick to me...kinda homeworldish though.
-
I'll play about with an Iwar2 version if someone wants, but it would be after Venom's Arcadia (which I AM working on V :D)
It looks great Bobboau, but I wouldn't want to fly it. I imagine that the guy in the cockpit has no peripheral visibility at all. he'd have to rely on sensors to see what was just on the other side.
Great ship though. Definately in the class of beasts (proper 'corvette') that I like. :D

Something that size, the pilot would probably have dedicated HUD equipment, rather than using the viewport. It's an idea venom did with a Vasudan interceptor for OTT, the Aoh, and I think it's probably the best design for future FS craft.
Whether you think having no cockpit looks better or not is, of course, up to you ;). Personally, I don't really care. :) ;7

Uh, take another look, no way does that look like a brick.

I've said that before, and I'll say it again: [Homer Simpson Voice]Mmm...Stuff....[/Homer Simpson Voice]
This is good stuff
And it beats even the Seraphim in size. OW!
-
Best user-made model I've seen in a while.
How long did it take for you to make it?
-
about a week, that one went together realy fast, the model it replaced (wich was realy crappy) took like a month to make, wich goes to show the diference between and inspired work and an uninspired work

A very good point. As I-War2 showed, you dont' need to be able to see to be able to fight if you've got a good HUD. :D

Ouch.

lol, don't think so. Btw, why the ***? you already posted the name in the public forum once :p ( and i thought we changed that name anyway :p )
But maybe I'm completly mistaken and I don't think about the right ship
-
I had posted the name, I just hadn't said what it was. And I'm not sure yet about the name change... we gotta talk more about it. :)
