Ever since I downloaded the new mediavps, I can't see through the cockpit glass. The glass ends up just reflecting the space background. I have not changed anything in my custom flags command line since the switch to the re-released mediavps.
Custom flag line: -ambient_factor 35 -no_emissive_light -ogl_spec 20 -spec_exp 15 -spec_point 1.2 -spec_static 1.5 -spec_tube 1.5
Any help would be great thanks.

Please post specs, such as video card, version of FSO being used and method of installation.
Thanks for raising it. Someone will be with you to help shortly.

I believe this is a known MediaVP issue.
-
Well it is kind of dark in there, maybe turn up the ingame brightness if nothing else works.

ATi Radeon HD 4650, FSO 3.9.10 and I used the FSO Installer

Wasn't this an issue specific to Radeon cards?
-
It's deliberate; the new cockpit glass is tinted.
-
I use the 4650 and have the same problem too. Is this problem "really" unfix able.

I can't believe I have to do this.

Although I don't use "show ship," I'm glad I've still got the older release of the media VPs. :p

The cockpit glass is not transparent.
-
DUDE. Unless you're trying to say the cockpit glass is opaque (which is not what you're saying), stop saying that. Galemp himself has said it's supposed to be tinted.
If it were opaque, then maybe there's a problem. But nobody has said anything like that, so it can only be assumed that it is not opaque.

Okay, what is this? A comment? An error report? A cry for help? A hidden love letter to glass?

What's up with the Hercules Mk. I still having the old canopy texture then?

Ok guys, I'll post some pics here to make it clear. Most of the ships have this cockpit's glass problem (at least with 4650, my 8600gt works fine without any problem) except the GTB URSA(the last pic).

I see said the blind man.
Are you running with the 3610_Patch.vp file in the MediaVPs dir? is -ENV in your command line along with -SPEC?
-
I used the old mediavp version 3.6.10 from Dec 2008(sorry about this but my internet bandwidth is extremely low upgrading at this time is impossible).
I've just download the Catalyst 9.12 and the problem is solved. Thanks everyone.
It also fix the Damage lightning or "flickering white triangles".
