Title: Need EBW help
Post by: Locutus of Borg on August 29, 2009, 10:10:51 pm
I try the first mission and was able to destroy all the Brakiri capships, but the fighters kept spawning out of nowhere until the two EA capships were destroyed. (One I am certain was caused by the game) It said run for the node, I dod and jumped out and it said I failed the mission.

What am I supposed to do?

you can't win the mission (actually you can if you are really really good but the game just keeps on going like you have failed then). However, if I get you correctly, you can't advance to the next mission correct?

Hm. Wasn't there a patch of some sorts? I hate to give support for campaigns I did not make and since it's not from me, I don't really have a clue. People?

Yup, the fighters spawned for a good 15 minutes before my two ships were destroyed. I ran for the gate (which took a while at 45km) and when I jumped it said

No Briefing available for....

then when I pressed proceed I couldn't accept the outcome and had to redo it.

I forget, but i know i lost botht he caps early on. Legged it and everything wen't fine...

Any chance you could open the mission / or campaign in Fred (i realise you may need to extract it) to see what the requirements to proceed are?

ah, so you defeated the whole fleet too like I did? Yeah, in that case the missions screws up. Just let your capships die early and run.

How does owning those (easy) guys break the mission?

But thanks for the advice. I'll just make for the gate once I press commit.

Well orginaly your where meant to lose the first 2 missions, but after much complianing from the testers it was changed that the player could save their cap ships and the ones they saved in the first 2 missions would be in the battle for Altair mision as well.

Have you got the patch and installed it correctly?

I will release a complete walkthrough of both the good and the bad sides of the campaign,  I will also tell you some hidden secrets !

Hopefully i will get the time to finish the walkthrough by the time i go back to uni.

I installed the patch and played the mission again. It was the same deal witht he fighters, once they got to two, more just popped out of nowhere.

yeah, that's MAGs design philosophy  :sigh:   Like I said, run and advance to the next mission.
