Concerning this thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=65472.0
Basically what I'm seeing is due to high velocities used in my weapons, there appears to be
some kind of damage bleed happening where more than normal force is being transferred to the
hull and bypassing the shield system (or causing it little loss).
Sushi explained it better:
It's not uncommon for weapons to partially penetrate shields and damage the hull directly even when they're at full strength. This especially happens with high-speed weapons. I'm not sure if this effect is intentional or not.
What I'd like is either some kind of controls to limit this effect, or at least some way of disabling it.
Since we have no information on what limitations (if any) this effect has, I can't account for it while
making weapons, and it throws everything off. Ships that should take 6 hits to destroy are dying in 2, etc etc.
