Title: IBM repost
Post by: Kosh on September 08, 2009, 04:57:58 am
Since the whole thread about IBM's layoff saga was lost I'm reposting it. Here, for anyone who wants to join in the fun (http://eetimes.com/news/latest/showArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=ZVHN3T5IDC3VVQE1GHPSKH4ATMY32JVN?articleID=219501449)

I lol'd at the comments. What's good for business is good for stockholders, and that's about it!

In some cases what is good for the stockholders is not good for the business. Why? Too often a business will put short term profits ahead of long term viability, no where was this more appearent than in our financial system because the bubble burst, now many of those banks are gone as a result of said philosophy.
