Title: Ingame sound error
Post by: HashThrashnGash on September 27, 2009, 07:35:34 am
Hey, I was just wondering if there was a fix for an ingame sound error? When I play the game everything is fine except I can't hear ingame voices or instructions. Occasionally the whole text is heard, but normally all I hear is a small smaple from the start of the recorded sound. This also has the problem of the text for the train vids disappearing within a couple of seconds.
I also get this problem with the "Beyond The Red Line" mod, which suggests that my system isn't fully compatible. Does anyone know what I can do?
Cheers, Hash.

The first thing to check is the Launcher's Audio tab to see if the OpenAL settings are correct. The second thing is the OpenAL installation itself; Reinstall if necessary. You should also select a debug build in the Launcher, run it, and then post the fs2_open.log from the data folder in your FS2 directory here.

The only settings I have in the Launcher audio tab are to select the sound card and to enable launcher sounds... neither of those have any effect. I cant find a debug mode either.

You ARE using fs2_open, right?
