Title: A bat for bad boys

This is a Ulysses variant I've made along ago. (I used it today to exercise my new skills for adding insignia).
It uses external models for all it's weapons and has 4 of them in the package, all primaries.
It suppose to be an after Capella cheap civilian modification, soled in the black market etc.

Special thanks to ShadowGorrath for his help with the table file and to Soundbible (http://soundbible.com/) for the sounds of the ballistic weapons "Pelops" and "Betty".

Reminds me more of Nuke's Hellbat.

On a tangentially related note, I like the Mihos. It's one of the few ships from INF that I like.

I'm going to have to agree with Aardwolf about the Hellbat bit.

Interesting you made a Vasudan variant... And I really like the artillery on those birds/bats!!!

The Gurren Lagann Edition Ulysses, perhaps?  :D

Well, maybe, the Ullyses was already in service at the time Sol node collapsed, so I think that there will be a few left in the UEF stocks. It's a decent fighter, so upgrade wouldn't be out of place.

Cool.

I see that there are missile models in the launch bays. Is that something  that you have added, or was it always there on the regular high-poly Ulysses (I'm assuming that it has been high-polyfied by someone already, correct me if I'm wrong).

EDIT: Ah, just re-read your post... It uses external models, so I assume it's a modification you have made.

the helbat was a pirate version that was faster and more manuverable but didt have as strong shields or any missiles. was meant as a fast manuverable dogfighter for puttng guns to enemy and filling their hull with holes. this puppy looks damn cool though. im either gonna discontinue the helbat or remake it from the htl version of the ulysses model. this ship is in a class of its own.

if the fs upgrade project has continued their policy of not changing the uv space then that actually makes making an htl hellbat a lot easyer since i wouldnt ave to retexture anything, just re-add the new geometry.

didnt you guys have a policy of not changing uv space when doing htl models? i mean if the htl uly uses the same uv space as the old one, then i could use the existing helbat maps on the htl model, then just add in the geometry tweaks. thinking back the helbat is one of the more fun pirate ships to fly, id hate to just pluck it from the mod because its model sucks.

It was present when Mediavps had separated model and textures .vps, so it was possible to have retail models with improved textures, or HTL models with retail textures.
Now we have MV_Assets that contains both, so there this policy no longer needed.

Nope, it's always been just 'do it however you like, but use as few textures as possible and don't waste polys 'kind of thing. Some models do keep the UVs, others don't.
