Mechwarrior Movie movie 'in development' (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/29/source-mechwarrior-movie-in-development-at-eisners-tornante/)
-
So where's the catch? Uwe Boll to direct?
-
Harmony Gold be the catch, I guess. Maybe some settlement that leaves little cash for actual production.
-
Worst unrelated thread title ever

What am I supposed to do with a sock?

Please don't ask that question. . . I'm afraid he'll tell you the answer.

What am I supposed to do with a sock?
Because I am the embodiment of all that Dekker fears.
The term is "wanksock"
-
/me facepalms
I knew that would happen. . .
So. . . .the film, is it gonna be full of political junk I won't understand or is it mostly mech funtimes?
-
It's gotta come out of "in development" first...
-
I hope Digital Anvil head up the CGI effects. They're my industry favourite. . . . .

The movie or the... hmmm

wanking in socks is so uncivilized

Won't get even a twitch unless you make it Armored Core :D

Oh, come on. Armored Core is a bunch of video games.
Battletech is god-knows-how-many novels, sourcebooks, and years of careful sociopolitical development and atmosphere.

This is why you're setting yourself up for disappointment :P With AC they can just have bad-ass high speed giant robot fighting (probably done by Michael Bay) with a standard non epic level plot that can be whatever the writers feel like at the time beyond some general guiderules. When the universe has been rebooted a ton of times you have a lot less instances of fans with pitchforks saying you screwed with the story :D
Wow. Yes. Now I need to find some way to have an armored core movie made by Michael Bay. That'd be a good use of his tendency to OMG SPECIAL EFFECTS
-
Yeah, maybe.
-
id be happy to see any battletech story. i cant be bothered with the books when i still got dune books i haven't read yet.
-
Michael bays writing and filmmaking is crap. I only like the CGI complexity and appreciate the technical skill required to pull it off.
Mechwarrior if made into a film would be more of a band of brothers style i'd hope.
-
Michael Bay AC film, eh. I have no doubt you'll get an AWESOME film filled with AWESOME special effects, cause he's such an AWESOME producer and I especially love his AWESOME explosions.
I'm still gonna adopt a wait-and-see with this. Don't wanna get my hopes up then get it crushed.
Also ...
/me holds up a sock
What do I do with this?
-
War of the Roses with Battlemechs would be pretty sweet.
-
Long time no post..
Anyway, I wonder if this will actually get off the ground. There were plans for a Battletech/Mechwarrior TV series a few years back that just faded into oblivion.
-
Yes, too bad they never made (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DisContinuity) that saturday morning cartoon... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech:_The_Animated_Series)
-
I definitely remember one hundred and ten percent, seeing an episode or two of the cartoon on channel four, early saturday mornings during my youth. . .
-
I was watching it on youTube once.
-
I have my Bushie toy still, somewhere. It makes me giggle a bit...

Not talking about that, you smart ass. There were talks of a live action show.

Sadly I couldn't find a toy of you, StarSlayer. :p

I have a military ID, so until recently, it had my SS number printed on it. However, they changed that, so now it's just a series of "X"s. Makes me wonder why put the category there in the first place.
