I wanted to have something to listen to while I finished writing my lab report, so I played it. I must say, even though it was made in 2006 it still creeps me out.
-
From what I remember of it on Youtube, t'was a disgusting piece of work.
-
My fingers twitch whenever I listen to stuff like that. It's not exactly something I like to listen to when I'm working, I'm surprised that you didn't just put on some music.
-
It's funny because the "Secular Student Alliance" at my school is showing that one tomorrow. What an odd coincidence.

Now why in the world would you do that? Seriously, man, put on some Mozart or something next time. :p

Wait, this was a documentary?
I thought it was one of those scare-people about how brainwashing Christian indoctrination is movies.
It's ****ing real?
Disgusting.
Should be illegal. :<
(*never saw it, only trailers and stuff).
And yea, seriously, music for working not ****ed up ****ed upness.
And now I'll be quietly ranting all night.
-
Jesus Camp is extra scary when you've experienced some of the indoctrination these kids go through. :[

Extremism of any sort is usually not good for the mind or soul, if you will.
I am a religious/spiritual person, but the critical thing one must do when dealing with any information or lesson is to contemplate it, extrapolate it, then abstract it. In short, always ask questions. Does someone who's being "indoctrinated" really know what they believe? This goes for anything, science, religion, etc. Ask questions. Know and understand what you believe and why.
I've never seen this work, and I've never thought it sounded like an appealing watch. However, "documentaries" like this will typically be biased towards the viewpoint of the filmmaker. And if the filmmaker wants you to see something which will try to make you change your mind to suit his or her viewpoint, he's/she's going to show you just that. Makes me think of those silly videos they post on PETA-esque websites... Documentaries aren't necessarily fact. Heck, history isn't always accurate; history changes due to who wins, who's in power, and so on. Look at the sad state of North Korea...

Even if the documentary was pro- Jesus Camp, a normal person would watch and be somewhat horrified. It's different from the inside, sure, because you're too busy experiencing the religious epiphanies and whatnot to see it. But if you watch from the outside and aren't one of them, well..

There is some truth in this statement.

And yet it was sadly based on something that actually happened. Hell even the pastor running the camp came out and openly supported the documentary.
It's ****ing real?
Yeah. One of those "truth is stranger than fiction" stories. Seriously, you just can't make this **** up.....
