An interesting concept to mitigate the water resource problems in the region. I wonder how it would fair in an earthquake.

Or, you know, we could build moisture collectors and it'd like Tattooine.

The Fremen lived below the surface because the overall humidity was under 1% and the temperature was approaching 150 or 160 degrees during the day.

that and the fact that if you walked the sands to long you would be gobbled up by a several mile long worm

That movie sucked (not Dune, that underground city one). Though the idea itself is interesting.

I say go for it. If it doesn't work, well, it's Nevada. Who cares?  :P

yes it did but that was made before hollywood mastered the art of butchering a good book to make a film, the books are outstanding (so long as you have the time to read them) a word of warning though the film will make less sense after reading the books
