Title: Do you agree with this video?? (non-Freespace related)
Post by: Marcov on November 03, 2009, 03:10:21 am
As it says, this thread is not related to Freespace.

I was surfing through Yahoo! Videos when I found something interessting:

http://video.yahoo.com/watch/6331993/16425095

After watching, It's kinda "hilarious". Hilarious because I sort of doubted that the Narada's torpedoes could actually smash right through the 19 km SSD's shields, engines, and weapon systems in just a short time. :doubt:

So, now DECIDE! It's JJ Abrams' 2009 Star Trek vs. Star Wars.

I don't care how good the Narada's torpedo's were, it'd take more to kill an Executor.

Meanwhile, if the fluff is to be believed, the Narada would have to withstand the energy equivalent to a supernova while it prepares a second volley.

In the end, it all comes down to scale, the Executor is the size of a planetary geographical feature while the Narada, while formidable in the Star Trek Universe is simply insufficient for the task as it's limited size is a hinderance.

Narada is not even a warship, and it does not come from an universe that has had unified galactic civilization (well, more or less) for tens of thousands of years. It's ability to destroy planets relies on a pretty drastic misapplication of it's original capabilities as a mining ship plus some red matter (wtfhax) stolen from Spock's ship. It would probably be fairly difficult for the Narada to deliver some red matter into the Executor in a manner that would instantly debilitate the warship... while the Executor would be free to unload all it's firepower on Narada, and they have a lot of it considering a normal ISD can do some Covenant-grade glass work on a planet.

...Except it doesn't make a bit of difference, guys. The balls are inert. The comparisons are incompatible by default. It's like asking which would win, Lt.Cmdr Data or Cmdr. Multimedia Information Superhighway.

I guess anyone can decide the outcome for themselves... :nervous:

That was the most retarded crossover I've ever seen.

I guess that just shows I haven't seen a lot of crossover videos.

I want that 90 seconds of my life back.  That was painfully bad.  Seriously cross overs are just made of fail and wank.
