Title: I finally found Talania
Post by: Eishtmo on November 05, 2009, 08:15:24 pm
Or at least where I got the idea for where it was to be placed on the node map:

It's not canon, but I had already accepted that, I'm just glad I wasn't crazy and this image DOES exist.

I've seen some much more expanded nodemaps in  the past.

Still cool though.

Didn't you say that you saw it around the time of FS1 though?  This includes some systems that weren't named until FS2, and even some systems that are specific to the BWO-Derelict continuity.

I'm not even sure what's going on here

Years ago Eishtmo swore that a system called Talania/Talnia existed because he had seen it on a nodemap.

If I understand, this is allegedly the nodemap he saw it on.  There IS a method behind this seeming randomness.

Isn't Talania mentioned in the FSRefbible or something?

EDIT: Actually, Leviathan Tech Description.

The FSWiki page on node inconsistencies tells the story.

There's no Procyon-Adhara node. I see that on a lot of maps - I wonder if this is also where that particular myth started?

Perhaps on this map? :p

Maybe you mean there's no Procyon-Epsilon Pegasi node.

Oops, yeah, that was what I meant.

Which would be when I made Cardinal Spear and Cardinal Spear: Vega where I made a modified version of the FS1 nodemap with Talania added.

So I'm the guilty party. Since then, I decided to retcon it into being a gas giant system in Beta Aquilae :p

The non-flash 'Cold Element' nodemap used for BWO's command briefing animations had Talania removed.

That map also had N362, which was in my first campaign Darkness Rising (which I didn't know about the OEM version of FS1 at the time...).

I'm just glad I found it and I wasn't crazy thinking something existed that didn't.  It still DOESN'T exist, but I'm fine with that.

Is that where N362 is from?

I always knew you'd find your real parents the nodemap. Congratulations.

Talania exists, according to the Leviathan's tech description. It's just that noone knows where.
