Title: Hobby Pics
Post by: ShadowWolf_IH on November 09, 2009, 09:21:36 pm
We all have a hobby.  What's yours?

Here's mine.  Tired after a long day of fighting.

I'm pretty sure posting a picture of my favoritest hobby is against forum rules.

I cover women's volleyball. I could post a picture of them playing, but it's not exactly what I do, just what they do.

Digital art (fractals, landscapes and space scenes), and I also find great peace when doing astrophotography.

That's really neat, ShadowWolf! I wish I could do that sort of thing. How much did your current "kit"/equipment cost you?

Are you extrapolating from the Ms. I.33 sword and buckler manuscript?  IIRC there isn't really any documentation on fighting techniques with kite shields and arming swords that exists from the middle ages.  Most of the manuscripts that survive are from when plate armor supplanted mail and shields became obsolete.  I take a Medieval Weapons class at the local fencing school most of our techniques are based off of Hans Talhoffer and the Ms.I.33.  We don't delve into kite shield techniques since there isn't really any documentation left.  Though I suppose sword and buckler would be a good starting point; aside from "under the arm" most of the seven basic wards could probably work with that type of shield.

I wouldn't mind having a go at Larping/Live Wargaming one day, an acquaintance of mine works in a Larping store, and I keep asking him about going to along to the place and having a look, but never getting round to it.

Besides, I'd probably have to do some less cardiac-arrest inducing exercise first ;)

I suppose I should also post a picture of my IG light armor, but I'm not proud of those kitbashed Chimera monstrosities. :P

I make cocktails, though I can't find a recent pic of my booze collection, and my camera's batteries are dead. Will post one soon though.

Here. Some WIP shots of my  model kit. I messed it up though, so a bit turned off into doing it. But I guess I'll suck it up and finish it by this week, hopefully.

I was going to post a picture of me with a bow drawn, but getting it from my phone to here is too much trouble.

Tiny bump, but meh :)

I can't exactly post a picture of my hobby, but I can post an example of the sort of stuff I do when taking a break from doing Diaspora music :)

This is more or less a jam, not composed or anything, and I really don't have a clue what to call it, but it made a nice change from Taiko ;)

Great googaly moogaly man. If this is just your "jamming", your proper composed tracks must be made of awesome itself.
