I made a really cool muzzle flash for flak a while ago, but it didn't work back then. this was before 3.610 official.
does it now work on 3.610 official? Recent Builds?

I think there's some sort of muzzle flash support now.

Weren't flak guns the only weapons that supported muzzleflashes in retail? Generally any primary can use them now.

Yeah, I think they had muzzle flash in retail.

Muzzle flash for flak, cannons, and anything that fires definatly works with the recent builds, just make sure you define it in both Mflash.tbl and weapons.tbl :D

Posting relevant table entries would quite likely go a long way in solving your problem. Also, moving this to modding.

I had the same problem, but apperantly it was a bug that made them not work in one of the older builds(maybe even in 3.6.10), in 3.6.11 it was definatly fixed

A bit late, but still...
Muzzleflashes work with secondaries too, with use the "Turret-Change-Weapon" SEXP.
Make the Turret you want to have Muzzleflash a Flak primary ( in the tables ), then in FRED use the Turret-Change-Weapon SEXP and set the Turret to be a Secondary.

Hm, i never had any trouble with muzzle flashes, neither as Flak nor as a Secondary with muzzle flash.
It fires always correctly.
A rogue entry in the tables, maybe?
