If anyone has any of my old files/releases, pls mail them ([email protected]) or link them to me.
Some of them were:
Latest was the Renegade ftr (with Normal maps, I forgot by who though).
Cosmo Tiger and Zero (by Heru but retouched by me)
Yamato (Atrahasis's model armed by Water)
and the numerous other files I can't remember some of you might, usually individual stuff.
Like Yukkikaze...
Probably a a few Trek ones or even a Robotech fighter.
Also 3dexploration (no naysayers pls).
The new stuff just doesn't work well with me.
I got TS3.2 of freespace mods so huzzah for that! :)
Other than that, it's a shame but my backup HD is now gone and all the projects I've worked on from day 1 here are gone. A few scattered files on 4shared and of course the pic site on photobucket are intact, but 99.5% of the work is bye bye.
I let Matt over at Game-Warden know (about 2 weeks ago) that RT2 was canceled and to do with the section as he will. I just don;t have it in me to restart that now when I have so much else to get back first.
Maybe I'll try again later, maybe not. For now I just want to continue as I have for a while once I get the tools back. Personal things...
Perhaps someday I will get my sound, image, texture, and mesh library restored, but it's not going to be soon. I have started however and some things are grim. KA got hacked and most of their data is gone so many thousands of old resource files I used occasionally are a memory. I extracted KA game data though, so alone with FS2 data it's a start.
I know I have only myself to blame trusting in HD's too much and never keeping burned data (as I was never satisfied with individual progress for burning). I just got my first USB flash drive and will be getting more in the future.

Sad to hear that.
I just watched Macross7 and thought that they had some pretty cool designs in it and I think you also had the one or other from Macross7, didn't you? Or was it just Macross? Anyway that is pretty bad.
About your crash...what are you doing with your HDs that they crash so often? In my entire time I only had one crash and that was because a guy decided to connect the wrong cable to my external drive, burning it out in the process.
I know how hard it is to have a complete crash. Thats why I am running a RAID1 system and it has allready proven its usefullness. Luckly it wasn't the HD that crashed but just a broken cable connection. Still I could continue working, finishing my work in time for a costumer and after I was done I just got myself a new cable and copied the current data to the other HD that was offline while I worked. No data was lost.

The only thing I have from you is the getter G pof file&tables
-
Well, I know how you feel. I too lost my hard drive not to long ago.
-
May i advice you a online sync file software?
I personally use dropbox to store important data, it's quite easy to use, i know it's too late for you files, but it may save your futures ones!

Yamato (Atrahasis's model armed by Water)
Had a quick look and did a fast update to the mesh. http://www.filefront.com/14952357/yamato-201.7z (http://www.filefront.com/14952357/yamato-201.7z)

Yes Lars, you remembered correctly:

Don't forget to peruse the whole site for diff project related albums (self evident):

I had made some Macross contacts as well over the years and was doing the odd conversion as a personal thing and not part of nay project due to my tie-in with my fanfic. The meshes were used for screenshots of recreated chapters in visual format.
My fic is about 1/3 to 1/4 way through andmost of the side modding was for that alone over the last 5 years.
TY Water!!! Yamato flies again!
[EDIT: Beginning of next part had a typo now clarified about movie]
Now lets rock!: (Pachinko movie - wants to vomit for what they used it for, but it's soo damn good!) Don't know what pachinko is, like Japanese token/pinball?
Ohyeah don't forget to raise your volume and go full screen as it starts! SB fans will love it!

Getter, does your hard disk still spin up? Is it recognized by the computer? Try taking it out of its enclosure and hooking it up to the computer (it's just a regular hard disk inside). If you can get the computer to recognize it, there may be hope. Even if you can't, you can buy hard disk PCBs (the circuit board on the bottom of the hard disk) to swap out with the one you have now and it may work.
-
Next time I might try that but the data was erased as of three weeks ago. It's now a 500gb slave drive to my new 750gb main drive.
My nice shiny quad core 2.3 gave me the finger with blue window of death and gave me a heart attack after I tried to simply reinstall Vista, when it told me "Vista cannot install: missing raid driver, pls insert disk".
WTF? After reinstalling 98/ME/XP and Vista once before on non-raid machines, this was like a kick in the nutz.
"Oh just DL the driver off the internet!"... Nice advice, but I couldn't get ON to get IT! :)
$80.00 later, (and a backup of everything I need to reload vista on my pocket flash drive) we are back online...
Things I have done so far in recovery (not worked with yet):
about 1000 Sketchup files
A few Hundred Starshatter Files
FS2 SCP of course and various mods from sectorgame, FSmods, and old links
SFC1-3 and BC, KA mods (when salvageable)
There is still so much more to gather again.

Wow...is that fanmade or did they realy make a remake of some sort?
-
Yes its pretty stupid that you can't have RAID support right from the beginning. Luckly I had my fathers notebook around so I got the drivers on my usb and then copied the files over and told the installation to take the drivers from the usb to install the raid properly.
Totaly overcomplicated if you ask me.

I have a version of the YF-19, but I heavily modified the textures into a black and white USN livery so it's not quite the same as the original.
-
Ooooo! Nice, I think I recovered the YF-19 from my 4shared site, that's all the actual Models/pof's that survived.
If you ever release the USN version to the public though I certainly will snatch it up! ;)
