Oooh, that's really nice :D:yes:

Only thing is how about a bit more of a Boom where the beam strikes - that'll look cooler :)

The particles and the beam looks good  the lighting is also very good ! But i should add a second procedreal texture to the particles.. a red one to make them look more fire-ish;)

Use Nadab's BattleCrab. It's better.

Nadab's site (http://www.eon3d.com)

Granted it's like 10,000 polys but it's a damn fine model, even comes with a Shadow beam.

Umm.. that is Nadab's crab...
As for the black text, its Shadow text, says "Into the Void"

You sure? Might just be a funny angle I suppose. Isn't it the wrong way round? I thought the beam was on the 'mouth' side.

Its the right way...
I think the flare is distorting the image a bit...

The hyperspace background needs a bit more fractal noise...

Yeah; it looks too peaceful right now. HS is volatile. And if you can get some lightning in there too yet, that would be also cool. ;)

I guess you didn't see real lightning, just this strong flashes... but it would look cool, nonetheless. :)

Have you guys seen "Endgame"? (It's a B5 ep.) It's where Sheridan and the ISA fleet come and reclaim Earth from what's-his-face and have to face 30 destroyers at Mars, as well as the Earth defence grid. Anyway, it just reminded me of a section of a part from the episode... where an EA commander (Sheridan's old instructor) reminds one of his men that all battles in HS end in disaster. What happens in it that's so bad? I mean, it sure looks volatile, but when in transit, ships seem to travel fairly peacefully through it...

Dunno, there are other episodes towards the end where normal, young-races ships open fire while in hyperspace, and nothing happens. I guess it must have something to do with drifting from the beacons or something like that...

I didn't quite understand what the guy said, but in "Into the fire", there's that minbari ship who opens fire in HS, the guy tells something, and the female officer decides to stop firing, maybe the explanation is there?

Post by: Setekh on April 12, 2002, 09:35:50 am
Yeah. Is it only Earth ships who need beacons? Man, it's a pity that Morpheus has just gone crap; I can't get anymore B5 eps anymore. :(

I think that's just what they did. Problem is, they don't know how to use all the gear by themselves. :)

They were just lackeys.

They had some Shadow weapons and devices that were left behind, but didn't know how to properly operate them or replicate them - thankfully for the other races.

You mean when Ivonova discovers that "Aw hell" means continue firing in Minbari?

That's handy to know.

No idea, I don't know the game of the guy, I just know he's supposed to be the first sentient creature ever in our galaxy.

Lorien?
Title: Into the Void
Post by: Setekh on April 13, 2002, 06:57:36 am
It'd be Lorien alright. He was the First First One... as far as us younger races know, anyway. Apparently, that makes only four 'generations' of races in our galaxy (that is, in the B5 universe): us (humans, Minbari, Narn, etc.); the First Ones; the Shadows; and Lorien's race.

Technically the Shadows were just the oldest of the First Ones.

And lets not forget the 3rdSpace aliens. Older than the Vorlons.

It strikes me that the Vorlons send their very being, their thoughts and such, into others and thus are all basically balls of telepathic/neural energy, yet they seemed surprised by the fact that all the 3rdSpace aliens were telepathic.

Yeh, I suppose so. But they were a LOT older than the other First Ones... but yeah, I guess the generation is the same. :)

Oh yeah, and the 3S boys. I know, it seems rather naive of the Vorlons to not have seen that coming, huh?
Title: Into the Void
Post by: an0n on April 13, 2002, 07:11:38 am
Maybe it was meant to imply that they had dominant control over all other telepaths powers. Which, being balls of energy, could be quite damaging to the Vorlons. But still, it was like 'Oh dear god, how can this be? They're all telepathic!". Mighta been that not even all the Vorlons and Shadows were telepathic, but that seems.....wrong somehow.

And if they were such powerful telepaths, how come they didn't get Sheridan to take of his space suit and explode.

That whole film seemed a little askew.

The movie is good imho:)

But one thing, did the Vorlons made the portal or did they find the portal, i think they made it as it is coverd whit Vorlon writing...
bah....i should watch more carefully.

They made it. They ****ed up. People died. They won the fighting. They lost the gate.
Title: Into the Void
Post by: Setekh on April 13, 2002, 07:16:32 am
I never got to see the movie. But I know what happens in it... roughly.

They made it; then the 3S guys pulled it into hyperspace before it could be destroyed. After which Ivanova found it.
