Title: 3dsmax and texturing

Right, good (old) people here. I got a "little" problem with maxy. It just won't accept textures though the format is supported.

Stu said that ye have to convert the models with pof2cob but it wont work just sais that unable to convert.

Plz help cuz when I get this working you'll see some new renders...soon...I hope. :p

PCS, the all-mighty prog. to edit and convert Pof/Cob files. Don't ask me where to get it.

Odd. Pof2Cob works for me.

I extract pofs and texes to the same dir. open the pof with pof2cob ---> pick lod ---> save!
Now I have a cob and the texes for it. I convert it to .3ds with 3DE.
In MAX, I import it and then use the 'get material from model', or something like that. Then you just have to reapply the textures.

That should not be required. What MAX are you using, in MAX4 the textures are already there.

No textures. And I use MAX 4.2

But it's not that difficult to reapply them, anyway.

So does Pof2Cob. The vertices(sp?) will have to be welded, though it's not necessary.

Let me see... Orion, Hecate, Deimos, Herc 1 and 2, Medusa, Ravana, sathanas, dragon and manticore. (I need those for some COOL action renders). If ye could give me any of those I would be grateful (did I spelled this right?)  :p

Well, I have the Orion, Hecate, Ravana, Deimos, Sathanas, but not the others. I threw in SF Mara, Myrmidon instead. :)

It's around ~300 kb. You may have tweak the files a bit. They're in .MAX format.
