Title: View questions

Something I've been wondering about for a while but never really bothered asking, the Free-Look View (Default bind Numpad 0) and Top-Down View (No default bind), I remember trying these occasionally here and there but they've never done anything. What do these do and is there anything that lets them function?

The free look view hasn't worked for me in a SCP build for awhile.  It never really bugged me, so I never remembered to file a bug report.

It's supposed to put a red dot on your trajectory, and remove the HUD and let you look around with the control device.  It wasn't that useful because you couldn't steer the ship at the same time.
