I appreciate the effort obviously a lot of time and research went into this.

Well, Spitfires (and Hurricanes) allowed for those bombings in the first place.

Wars are not won by defensive action. 'sides, the Spitfire is the direct cause of its own greatest problem, the 109.

Note that our rifles cartridges are more or less artillery shells to these guys.

I disagree, I think you'll find the Spit came into service a year or so before the 109.

That's the exact reason. The Luftwaffe went with the 109 rather than whatever low-speed high-manuverablity crapbucket intially won the acceptance trials specifically because (to their surprise) the Brits had ordered a large number of Spitfires.

Screw the guns. The cannons are better  :D
