I was just grateful while downloading this Enterprise NX-01 model file from this site: http://sectorgame.com/f2s/downloads.php?action=downloads&id=186
Problem is, when I spot the Winzip, I see a whole heck of files such as "Enterprise Glow.jpg" or something like that. Then I extract them all to my models folder anyways. But in FRED it says; "cannot find Enterprise Glow.jpg. Press OK to debug, cancel exits" something like that. Can anyone please help me? I seriously NEED THIS MODEL!!!

Model files (.pof) go to \freespace2\modfolder\data\models\ .
Textures go to \freespace2\modfolder\data\maps\ .
Possible effect files go to \freespace2\modfolder\data\effects\ .

Also, if that model seriously uses jpg for textures, please track down the models' creator and ask him (preferably using pointy sticks) just what the hell he was thinking.
If you intend to redistribute that model for a mod, please convert those textures to a format that isn't a pretty stupid idea (like dds).

This thread title makes me chuckle a little

I think that NX-01 wasn't originally intended to use in FS, but converted from somewhere else.
This model doesn't even have turrets or any serious pof data.
-
It doesn't look too bad, actually, but yeah, Dragon is right. It lacks data that FS2 ships need before they can be called "combat ready". Right now, it's pretty much only usable as an unarmed transport.

Well, firstly, it's from 2007. And the fella who converted it to POF probably didn't know how to mod by then. Moreso, the -jpgtga flag still existed then, so, obviously, some people had ideas on using jpg textures.
Besides the POF info, the model's textures work fine in-game, when converted to a proper format. Like I did now ( click this message for the in-game shot ). And adding POF info shouldn't be too hard anyway. (http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/473/screen0246.png)

His name was Little Luddie and 99% of the trek models on SECTORGAME are ripped from the various Trek games as well as community modded meshes and he only credited himself. That got my ass in serious trouble in like 2003 when I posted pics of using those works on the KA, BC, and SFC3 sites.
I was labled a mesh thief for a bit and it took years to re-establish not only my naive involvement, but my own reputation...
Plus he never tested the majority of them in FS2 so he didn't know if any of them would actually work or not (user beware).
He disappeared in that year and to the best of my knowledge, was never heard from again.

Perhaps we can make another Trek mod, this time using Omniscapper's mod as a base.
It's pretty much ready, but it's tables are awfull and some other things may be buggy.
Not to mention it doesn't have anything besides ships and weapons (it also have some intel info, but it may be inaccurate).
