Number 72 may not seem all that impressive, but it beat Tie Fighter and Crysis..
Pic from my mag, taken with my sony W995. (doc settings, scaled down and colour dropped for clarity)

Do you know the secret.

omgyoursigmademelol XD..
The post above this is super-true-win!
-
Image is b0rked.

Onoz!
How did that happen? I'm gonna re-upload it to here. . . . later.

There ya go.
-
Only 72? Hmmm...dissapointed.
-
I would've put it above MechCommander, but it's still pretty good.
-
It's in the top 100. I don't remember where it was in the top 200 but i've got a feeling it's moved up slightly. . . . .
-

yeah same
-
Still good publicity. . . Does HLP have a PR team yet or is it just Goober?
Because i'd volunteer if necessary. . .
-
It beat Crysis?
:ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha:
/me looks at the other entries.
Carmageddon beats FreeSpace 2? How's that possible? :eek2:
-
Freespace also beat COD4:mw1.
I'll take pics of the rest and upload them at some point. But the number one is suprising.
-
Really? Do tell.
-
Unatco, Helios and Area 51. . . . Ring any bells?
-
Yes.
Good pick for #1. Probably what I would've picked.
-
Unatco, Helios and Area 51. . . . Ring any bells?
Nope. The only thing close to Area 51 that I've ever encountered in any game is SimCity 4's Area 5.1.
-
You fail gaming.

You fail gaming.
Wasn't that established last year? Come on, tell me something I don't already know. :p
-
Unatco, Helios and Area 51. . . . Ring any bells?
Oh yeah. One of the best game I ever played. It deserves it.
Can anyone check how ranked is Homeworld ?

Deus Ex dates from the same era as FreeSpace.

Found an article.

Saves me taking pics, scaling down and uploading :D
-
YEAH ! HW's 30th \o/
-
As (probably, the same as many of you) a gamer who has played most of this list.
WTF @ The rankings.
****ing franchise fanbois.
Most of the top ten would be lucky to get into my top 50 -.-
-
Yeah, the list is pretty screwed but freespace is in it. That's the important thing.
Plus no Quake. . . . Where would half life be without Quake :(
-
wow! that's a weird top list.. look they even got Colonization in n° 65!
I loved that game soooo much back then... I think I still have it somewhere round here hehehe ^^
-
Of course I don't think they'd add teh fan-made campaigns. They're looking at Retail; FreeSpace deserves to be in the Top Ten considering the epic mods that had been generated by FRED! ! :pimp:

Agreed. I mean really, what was the guy who came up with these ranks on?
-
As I understand it, it was compiled by a dozen or so video game journos. They each voted for fifteen games.

We're working on it! (see the rendering overhaul thread - that'll hopefully help)
We've got facebook, scp.indiegames.us (which I understand is still being worked on) and HLP.
We've also got all the mods that depend on us (they send us peeps occasionally, which is great).
Now we just need world domination, and we're done!
I wonder if that was the original, or the SCP enhanced edition....
-
Facebook?
I set one up for HLP/Freespace fans years back. Link!

(that's the only one I can find)
-
Yeah, that's my one :) I mean the communities page I started ;)
Affiliate up SCP people. . .
-
Deus Ex...
Never heard of it
-
...Machina?
That's a classic, my friend.

Before we get a PR team we need a more user-friendly product. Specifically, we need to make it as user-friendly to download, install, update, and launch mods as possible. I hear there's an integrated solution to all these things in the works, but I haven't seen any evidence.
It's no good telling a thousand people about our work if only a dozen of them can actually use it.

There are a couple of things in the works - stay tuned (most probably a few months off, but they're still in the works!) :)

Deus Ex...

You should have seen the crapstorm I raised when I said that on IRC in the presence of some people who do know about it. :p
-
We should can people with no sense of history.
