Title: Arch Linux AUR
Post by: TheJoe on December 31, 2009, 01:46:27 pm
I'm interested in reviving the AUR package for FSOpen here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=11981
As you can see, it's out of date and not even maintained anymore.

Trouble is: I don't have a clue where to start! The CVS repository at warpcore seems to be missing, I can't find a discernible source package or anything.

An AUR PKGBUILD has to be able to download a source tarball (.tar.gz seems to be the standard), extract it and then build it automatically before installing it.

And I may be looking in the wrong places but I just can't find a source tarball (GPL violation?).

Any help would be good.

Edit: Found a tarball. I'll see if it's any good for the AUR.

The latest official source tarball I'm aware of is 3.6.10 (http://swc.fs2downloads.com/builds/fs2_open_3_6_10.tgz).  Other than that, you can do a source export from the SVN server listed in the Source Code Project forum if you want the latest trunk builds.
