I'm compiling a model dump of a few dozen cobs and scns. These date back to pre-2000, and I need a clean slate to organise my old Nova Imperia mod.
I'll upload them later as i'm posting from my phone.
edit--- told ya so!

Are they any good?
(not volunteering, fyi)

What Aardwolf said. Screenshot of one of em or something?
-
can you rather export to obj or vrml? a proper working truespace is rather hard to get a hand of...

Expect a few screens soon. Also, isn't there a TS link here in this very forum somewhere ;)
-
3.2 isnt availble anymore and 7.6 now comes without the model side, so any decent exportage is out of the way completely.

TS 3.2 is available on FSMods.

does it work on vista x64? :p
-
How can I know, I'm using XP.
It worked for me on Win XP, so maybe it will also work on Vista.
If not, you may try to emulate XP (are there any XP emulators for Vista?).
-
It works on 7 32. So vista should be able to handle it.
-
we'll see. zip it up and upload it on tap ftp, i'll give it proper hosting later
-
RAGGGEEEE!!!
Why do people use .cob? Seriously, there's a massive variety of file formats FAR superior to that madness. If you can export to .obj, we might be able to forgive your NTF advocacy, Dekker... :P
-
Check first post, and Cob is what i work with :p

I think someone said it wouldn't work with x64 though... never tested it though.
-
it works without problem on Vista x64 SP2... still converting, this crap is boring like hell? :p
-
The models?
Yeah I know, could be worse. . .
-
actually no, truespace's way of handling files. i cant even drag and drop all of the crap into the window to get it out :p
-
Well. . . . . . . Anyone had a peek?
-
still converting and ts is being a whiny ***** :p
-
Nah not that, just wanted some feedback on them.
-
well, most are relatively decent, but you didnt include anything even resembling a texture at all, sooo :p
-
Well I didn't texture them is why :p
I want the Galahad and lance torpedo especially finished.
That was going to be a premier thing.
-
The next thing you should work on is ditching TrueSpace. :p
...Think of it as a woman you meet in a bar. She's fun for a while, but then you just need to move on...
(I'm not saying that I'm that way - I'm not. But I get the impression you are... :p)
-
You get the impression because I make such a big imprint. ;7
I'm learning Max to a useful degree though, currently I just tweak truespace made models which I convert with lithunwrap.
Give it a few months and i'll be scratchbuilding models in it.
Hence the dump.

Nobody interested at all?
No such thing as bad feedback as far as i'm concerned.
-
While we could download your filedump and HAVE TO deal with .cob files, we would probably rather not. Thus, posting pictures would be a really swell idea...
That said, have you ever heard of the "Snipping Tool"? If applicable, here's a link:
http://microsoft-snipping-tool.software.informer.com/
Doing a search on that software might also prove valuable. It reminds me a lot of Snagit, which I used in high school. It might even be developed by the same company... Heck, your little Win7 netbook might even have this software: it's pretty simple, after all. Screenshots made easy...
-
Sod that. I've got photoshop and flash cs4 on my netbook. Althoug to be fair win7 paint.exe is actually a pleasure (apart from viewing file info and resizing).
I'll prepare some screenies tomorrow.
Although you can all view the models in PCS2 :)

:bump:
Found an old .scn of a destroyer concept with turrets. Non textured. I don't roll that way til the models done.
It's up for grabs, but you NEED truespace :p

Bump. . . .
I noticed some downloads have taken place! Any feedback?
-
I will only comment on the ones I like: So I am stealing them...
Lance - looks like an awesome cap missile!
Janus Salvage F3 model looks like one hell of an assault bomber!
Cap-Miss: nees some simplifying or just lose the fins
Jbomb looks like a possible ship tender, needs reworking
Jscout versions: gave me some ideas for a similar mesh as yours seems really rough still and needs serious polishing.
Overall nice collection. Glad you made it available!
-
I'm pleased and looking forward to seeing these get some dedicated parenting after being subject to my drunken abuse. . .
The big Lance bomb was made to work I tandem with that big bomber. The Galahad I think. I envisioned it being locked externally. Or as a seperate pof/new class which would undock when secondary fire was pressed, then tear off towards the target. Cruise missile style.
Thanks again for the interest ;)
