I heard there was a hack to turn up the graphics in FS ,
1. Does it work for 2, and how to do it?
2. Can my agian Voodo 3 make it work?
I read about the old star thread and the info but where can I get that info on D3d?

Find, at least, one answer here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,6628.0.html).

1/ Yep. My idea, although I never get credit for it :p
2/Maybe.... it has 16MB memory, IIRC, so it should work. Depends on the max size of textures supported by the Voodoo 3, but I'd imagine it will do.

you're stuck with 256x256 it seems.
take a peek at Voodoo Extremes comparison (http://www.voodooextreme.com/lux3d/comparison.htm).

CRAP now I ca't see the wonders your posting *sob*

Hmm. I can't reach VE either.
Well I found this instead.
A review @ Reactor Critical (http://www.reactorcritical.com/review-voodoo3/review-voodoo3_5.shtml).
Such things as maximum texture size of 256x256, the lack of 32-bit Z-buffer, AGP texturing, and stencil buffer does affect neither image quality nor performance nowadays
Click the above link for the original article.
Oh and here's my Google Search results (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Voodoo3%22+%2B%22texture+size%22&hl=en&lr=).

hmm, the VE link worked fine for me. I'll save the page and upload it.
EDIT: click here (http://vertigo1-2.freeyellow.com/comparison.htm)

Did 3dfx persist with that ridiculous limitation right up until the end?
It's a good thing they went bust then...
