Is it possible to add a flag so a missile can be targeted i ask because i am setting up a treb style long range intercept missile but for story and balance reasons i want it possible to shoot down but obviously the bomb tag stops the AI using it against fighters.

I actually have code for that feature somewhere but I sent it to Wanderer for review, never heard back from him and then promptly forgot about it. :D
I'll have to see what he has to say on the matter.

Hmm.. i cant find that patch, well not at the first glance. You can however make weapon destroyable just by assigning hitpoints for it

I was not aware that the bomb flag made ships not use something against fighters... I knew it made it targetable, destructible, and a priority for fighters, though. I am equally curious whether the bomb flag would not work.

i tried it in a few early tests of the missile and the AI wouldn't use it against me

That's not for Diaspora, is it? Being able to shoot down incoming missiles would add a good series feel to the game...

Tachyon also had missiles that were targetable by default, rather than bombs.
So this'll be a welcome addition.

that, star wars and many other sci fi universes call for it so nice one guys and roll on the next release

Actually it's for BtRL and has been bounced around so many times that it may finally get implemented now in time for Diaspora. :rolleyes:
