Ok, I redid CoW.
Did a lot of work on CoW2.
First Screenies of Mission 1 CoW3, the screenies feature Trashman's Blade Cruiser, weapons adapted for CoW.

Looks retail-ish.
-
I feel like I should give this a shot. Nice work, ShadowWolf.

Thanks but the work isn't mine, except for one of the nameplates, and even then i just modified the one on the Blade. Icefire's backgrounds, circa 9 years ago, Trashman's ship, and Aldo's effects, also about 9 years old. I'm just a fredder and a guy who hacks other people's models (although I did once model and texture a box).
I'm just bringing some things together. Adding a few ideas of my own, hopefully using ships in ways that are new and inventive.
Don't check out Casualties of War, I did a horrid job of fredding it, it's been redone, as have parts of CoW 2, and I'll be re-releasing them with CoW3.
But thanks for the vote.

I like the beam bolts. And the blue flak.
-
can someone tell me what font that is on the cruisers and where to get it?
-
I believe it's 'Stop', the usual FS font? Or is the usual FS font something different?
-

STOP (http://fsport.hard-light.net/extras/stop.ttf) is the font used on textures in FreeSpace. It's on the original Galatea and Bastion nameplates, the GTI Arcadia and GTDR Amazon, and even the main halls.

Sweet, thanks.
-
Blue flak. Like the looks of those a lot.
-
Dear God, I want.
-
The blue flak was in the original CoW.
That's where I stole the explosion effect from to make the Negator Flak in ToD. :P

The long green lasers look waaay too much Star-Wars-ish. I suggest you to do something about it, it breaks the atmosphere big time.
-
And add a proper starfiled and Lightspeed's nebulae.
Also, normal maps for Blades would be usefull.
-
Hey people, why don't you stop back-seat modding and be silent.
Only noobs say stuff like, "I don't like your mod, redo everything to fit my criteria, oh and I don't care what you want in your mod."
Seriously people.
EDIT: This is why I shouldn't get blazed on week days.

Don't take those so seriously, some of the tips will make the campaign improve. Besides they are doing nothing wrong as long as their are not flaming the work.

The "I suggest" part of my comment was, as it suggests, a suggestion. Would you be suggesting a suggestion might be doing anything worse than suggesting ?
-
Those aren't lasers. Those are Tracer rounds. Developed for the Original CoW. Cow3 takes place in the same system as CoW, so Icefire's nebulae remain. Now what do you mean normal maps?
-
If I may? The Blade needs more than just normal maps. It looks like it is using retail textures. What it needs is MediaVPS textures, which include normals. Although I do think a lot of the COW additions need normals and texture revamps.
With a lot of polishing, COW could become a superb trilogy.
-
Is that an offer?
-

Are you using FS2Open?
Normal maps are one of the greatest improvements implemented by FSO, it's recent, so you need 3.6.10 final for it (that screen looks like retail or some very early versions of FS2Open).
-
HUD Presets (http://swc.fs2downloads.com/files/hud_presets.7z). You might want to use them. Please. :)
Just drop them in your data/players folder (already in players in the archive actually) and then edit your HUD, you can select any of the retail color presets. That full green is just not as appealing as the gray-green in the presets, I think.
