Title: ****ing DRM (Aardwolf Edition!)
Post by: Aardwolf on February 01, 2010, 10:06:23 pm
I purchased it a couple of years ago (legally) at a local Best Buy, and installed it first on what was at the time my desktop computer, and now I had installed it on my new laptop. It was working fine for a couple of weeks, when suddenly it started lagging like crazy...

The game is the 2004 Starship Troopers FPS, and apparently every time I run it, it (re)creates a program and process called "~e5.0001", which --- if terminated --- kills the game. Apparently it's some sort of DRM that comes with EA games... and it's preventing me, a legitimate owner of the game, from playing the game.

****ing DRM.

So, what can I do to get this game working again?

Pirate a version without the DRM.
(Hey, you own it, why not?)

Or just find a third-party patch that does the same thing.

i think its seruceROM or whatever, because BF2 used to have this process slow it down while running, and ending the prosess would ent the game.
t'was annoying.
