Title: FRED Lagging really badly
Post by: dragonsniper on February 03, 2010, 07:04:34 pm
Hey. Someone I know is using the January 31st, INF Nightly build (for FRED and Freespace.) Whenever this person scrolls in to see a ship better in FRED, it starts lagging up and gets to the point of completely freezing, but it doesn't. I myself have tried to help, but since I am not experiencing this problem, some help from one of you tech guys would be nice. BTW, the person is using a 32bit Vista machine that is pretty new (if that helps any.)

How exactly? (I forgot how, and I need to be able to explain it to him.)

Read the FAQ.

Make sure ship models are enabled (and wireframe mode is not.)

Read the FAQ, and it helps me for the future. The Wireframe did it though apparently. Thanks a ton.

It should be noted that builds as of 5654, FRED now writes it's _own_ log file instead of over-writing the fs2_open.log.

The new log is called Fred2_open.log.
