This will be a short thread since the ship won't be finished until school's out. Mostly, this old ship has re-engaged my attention and I thought I'd post an update. The last version I posted (on the Vasudan Capital Ship thread) was only roughly formed. These shots here are slightly more resolved. Still not done, but you'll get the idea of where it is heading.
What is a good number of polygons for a juggernaut? Right now I'm 18 000. I wouldn't mind smoothing those turrets a bit...

With those turret blisters, its feeling more Mon Calimari than Vasudan.

Oh ok, but you said something totally different in the other thread.
Could I see the bottom? You probably have many polies to spare, but they'd probably be better spent on detail than simply smoothing turrets.
Maybe duplicate what you have, flip it, and use it as the bottom (put some stuff between the two "plates", like greebles, a city-like thing :P) That could look awesome...

Too symmetrical! :eek: If you're gonna go the 'a bunch of pods all attached shoulder to shoulder' look, then variegate it. Take a look at the lower pylon of the Nebulon B frigate, for example.

Looks like a freaky giant seashell thats covered in barnacles.

I guess it did come off as if it was Vasudan, rather than it could be Vasudan.
I don't know if I'll make it asymmetrical. The bigger problem I think you're referring to, Galemp, is that there are too many uniform and unbroken lines leading from front to back. I'll have to fix that.

Looking much more like a ship now. Not sure if it'll work as a Vasudan ship, but it still looks pretty good. :)
