Well well well, after my return to FRED2, I am in the final stages of Act One of the Ascension of Beyond. And I am currently in planning of the second act of the campaign, planned to range from 6-15 missions. Now, The AoB isn't one of those 2 gig mod-filled campaigns that take four years to make, its a game designed for its storyline and gameplay, with table edits. And I am now looking for a team to work on the AoB Campaign, and possible future campaigns.
About Beyond: "In The Tau Sigma System star system of the Terran-Vasudan controled space, 11 years after the explosion of the Capellan star. A group of Vasudan extremists took rebellion and have been in a war with the GTVA for over a year, named the Tau Sigma Revolutionists. Destroying many ships with their stealthy ambushing skills and under their high commander, the GTVA sent more vessels to assist in this war. You are a new pilot on the GTD Messana, and begins with you arriving in the system. This rebellion may lead into a deeper, darker plan by a group, not associated with the TSR, an alliance of races appear for one reason: the total destruction of the GTVA. Can you stop the coming of Beyond?"
And I am currently looking for a reliable team currently of the following...
-5-7 FREDers with Experience
-A Manager to keep the site updated when I'm not around
-A Creative Mind to come up with story ideas for Campaigns by the team.
-
And you already have me! :D
Oh, and what Virtu forgot to mention is that we'll hopefully be hosted soon too. He just sent in the request. ;)
-
... Why does it seem that so many new campaigns simply use randomly coupled, dramatic-sounding words for titles?
Or is 'beyond', as a preposition or poetic-license, strictly abstract noun, somehow capable of moving upward?
-

Hey, mine doesn't. :D

I only use 1 word. haha!
-
Well MT has a distinct and valid meaning, that connects directly to the very point of the story we want to tell...
-
TPI's title is direct and to the point; summarizes the campaign's story without too many details. ;)
it doesn't even sounds cool :p
It would be really funny if someone created a campaign called "Under the Bottom" and it got hosted here. :D:D

...Sounds like a porno...:D
Back on topic. I'm no master at FRED, but I'm getting better at SEXPs. Drop me a line, I might be able to help with a few missions here and there. :D So long as you give me an outline of what you want done in the mission. Note that I can't do Breifings or Debreifings of any sort, though I can try to learn. :D

Somehow I don't see someone naming a campaign like that... :D

I might be assist you once my current project is finished, if you still need help in a month or so. ;) (AP exam preparations are also unfortunately taking up some of my time, but that will change after May 15 ;))
-
I'm already helping you, so yeah :D

Yes, but how?
-
The Ascension of Beyond means like the rising of the big bad enemy in this campaign, the Beyond Galactic Alliance.
-
Ahhhh! Now it makes sense. You should tell people that. ;)
-
Yeah, I know :)

I just beta tested the first four missions for Virtu and I gotta say, they were really good. If we can just get more guys to FRED for us we can have this campaign done pretty fast! Help us out!
Oh, and you sure see the Beyond in the first mission. All I'll say for now :D
And...well...Virtu has a few mistakes in the briefings
Squad Leader: Almost all of the personnel aboard Tau Sigma station have parished. We are going in to reinforce their position.
;););)
-
Did you see any errors in mission 1?

Well, you never know...
They could just have been put into a church and whisked away... :p :D

In the scripting (like in the SEXPs and stuff?) I don't think so. I'm not good at that stuff so I wouldn't notice it anyway. I was just playing for content, plot, etc. I liked how you take off in the middle of the beam fight in mission 1 though. :o Little spoiler there :D
And Steak: Yes, it's true that they could have just been whisked away in a church, but I doubt it somehow. ;)
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the regilous Shivans are coming for us!
