Title: A-Team movie remake, wtf?
Post by: Colonol Dekker on February 08, 2010, 02:51:41 pm
I just saw a snippet of it on all things, an orange mobile network tv advert. I only caught a flash of it but I am steadfast in my belief that it's out this year.

Why do people insist on butchering programmes from my youth. . . :(

I don't know. I mean, it looks pretty freakin' awesome.

Besides, you're drunk half the time. Therefore your opinion is invalid.

Scathe scathe. . .

It needs more publicity I wouldn't have minded a bit of warning.

Spoiler:
well shooting down a UCAV with the cupola weapon on a tank being parachuted from a destroyed C-130 was kinda cool...

In a completely OTT way

it's out may or june, maybe july 4th, i heard of it a few months ago.

now, i'm a fan of Mr. T (!), and yeah, he's not in it, but still, i think it looks like it may be entertaining.
I'll watch it, eventually.

Resurrecting a franchise with nostalgic appeal for 18-35 year olds means having a critic proof, built-in audience, and minimizing the risk like that in a big-budget release is a lot more important to the producers than actually making a decent movie.  And yeah, the A-Team without T is a complete joke.  Pity the fools.

They made it completely serious.

It's the freaking A-Team. You can't do that.

Let's reserve judgment on that until the actual film comes out.

They actually had me wondering if this might just possibly be a faithfully made tribute to the greatness of the original show until that point. After that I just started looking to see if Michael Bay was directing. :p

Ok, the A-team was before my time. The only thing that would really phase me would be if they made a movie out of the Doom series or if they made movies out of the Resident.... evil.... series... wait a second, they did, and they were all horrible! Hollywood, ironically, is the best reason not to watch TV. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. The other half involves a lot of death and war, but I digress.  :)

Hey!  I enjoyed Doom for what it was: an attempt to make a movie out of a less than engaging story from an old video game.

The concept of a Doom movie was all well and good until they replaced the demons-from-Hell premise with some genetic-engineering-gone-wrong bull****.  Seriously, how the hell do you **** up a story as simplistic as that? :p

*wonders if he's the only person who feels that movie would have been far better if filmed completely from first-person perspective*

That movie would have been fricking awesome filmed entirely in first person.

I think they ****ed up a story that simple because it was that simple.  What part of that plot can a movie use without being The Last Action Hero IN SPAAAAACE (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitlekt6mtovm4vne?from=Main.RecycledInSPACE)?
