Title: an ETA - you has it?
Post by: Angelus on February 10, 2010, 06:15:09 pm
This might be be the wrong place to ask, considering that you guys have a pretty low priority regarding the prequels, but my search in the world-wide-interwebs was resultless.

I need ortho's of the ETA Actis Jedi Star Fighter and the Venator class cruiser, and i thought you might have any, or at least can point me to the right place. My usual source for ortho's failed me this time, and i don't want to feed Watto Lucas with credits for the techmanual. Any help would be much appreciated.

If there's anything I've learned about modeling for Star Wars these last few years it's this:  All of the orthos are wrong.  Every single one.  I mean it, especially the official Lucas ones.  There's some good fan made ones, but in my experience, I'd say just grab a few basic views, good or poor, it doesn't matter, and model on those, then start looking at screencaps, renders and model images and fix it up yourself.

Brand actually measures pixels of the studio models in Photoshop.

That almost sounds like a bad Chuck Norris fact.

Brand was actually grown from one of Chuck's toenails, so it suits him well.  :D

However, once FotG goes final, I'll be happy to use the orthos of the models produced for it as "official" diagrams. I know of nothing closer to the "real" thing.

Funny, but yes, it's true, I do.  Angles too, correcting for perspective of course =P
