Title: Alien Hand

So, as part of my Fine Art GCSE mock exam, I was given 10 hours to make a piece of artwork, I decided to make a life-size sculpture out of clay, this is what I came up with:

Pre-firing, still a bit damp (this explains colour change between fingers and palm)

The fingers could be integrated into the palm a bit better. I expect this poject has been done for a while, but for future projects. Working the thumb into the palm would also help give the palm some definition. I really like the patina.

This must be some strange program to have exams aand mock exams. Where I go to school, we just hand in the work we've done over the semester in one big portfolio. Usually artist statement's take a while to develope, and he work needs time to grow.

Nice work though, especially for ten hous.

I was given 4-6 weeks to gather info and design what I was going to make, I only decided what I was going to create 3 days before I started, so there was virtually no planning to this. :nervous:

I agree with bobbtmann, the fingers and thumb do not fit with the palm, I would have probably made the palm more skeletal, given time...
