/me waves pom-poms
I can't wait for it! So excited to see all new features. Is it going to come with a custom .exe?
-
No. It will be usable with 3.6.10 Inferno builds (and .11 Inferno and .12 Inferno, of course).
-
Big ship count then.
Hope there are some new stations . . . .
-
That's mostly for WiH, we are not adding ships that weren't there before.
It's tested with Inferno, so we don't know if it would run on normal builds though.
-
Even AoA needs Inferno, because we are ow adding our ships to the retail shipset instead of overriding the retail ships.tbl completely.
-
So wih will just attach to aoa via the multimod line in the mod.ini, ahah.
Still can't wait for new shiny fully voice acted awesome blue planet-ness.
Est file size is 500+ meg right?
I hope i've not screwed my allowance over already. I may need to invest in fibreoptic 200mbps.
-
Download size will be about 300 Megs. Unzipped, it will take about 700 MB of HD space.
-
I may just be able st squeeze that through my allowance. So what's the remaining upload? ;)
/me does more happy dance dance stuff.

Just did the count. BP:AoA compressed is 263MB (654MB uncompressed) and BP advanced is 62.2MB (216MB). At this point this shouldn't change much if at all.
And for loose comparison purposes, equivalent sizes for BP2 (which is still under development as you know) are 259MB (828MB) and 5.17MB (49.6MB). Size will obviously get a bit bigger as more assets are added. But as we know, size is not everything. ;)
After AoA release, we may have some new WiH screenshots to show you. :)
-
Good stuff!
That's some great compression by the way. What program do you all use?
-
7-Zip's ultra-settings

I can't honestly believe how far Blue Planet has come. It has been well worth the wait. Just a bit longer and one of FS's crown gems will be released. ;)
When it releases, you have my download for sure, you can count on that. The WiH one too when it eventually arrives. :p

I'm sure you've done sufficient testing, but I wanted to flag for the BP devs that there are a couple of spots where .11 and .12 Debug will better report tbl issues that we just silently dealt with in 3.6.10.
If you have any problems making BP:AoA Director's Cut compatible across each Inferno build, let me or the other SCP coders know. We can give you a hand working around any problems you might come across due to stricter enforcing of tbl structure.
-
Yes, we are well aware how much better .11/.12 is and BP2's development platform has been .11. No worries, there are no debug errors given by .11 on either BP: AoA or BP: WiH.

Whoop!
I'm hoping this'll be out before march.
