Title: I like the big ships... how?
Post by: Anti on February 18, 2010, 10:52:07 am

Is there any way to play a mission with the largest six kilometre long ships in?
I would like to see some of the amazing stuff in the game without having to play thirty missions of campaign.

Cheers.

High NoonV2.0, it's a single mission, available on FSMods.

Thanks for your reply.

I've downloaded it, but can't see how to make it appear in the in-game single missions menu.
Using fsport-mediavps I see about 20 single missions listed, but I can't locate them in the folders anywhere.
Using FS2 mediavps, I don't see any single missions listed.

So basically... how do I install single missons? (And yes, I have googled. Where this game is concerned, none of my searching does any good. I can never find the answers I need).

Cheers.

A single mission (identified by the .fs2 file extensions) can be placed in <FS2 Directory>\data\missions . After that, it should appear in the Tech Room's mission simulator.

Cheers.

Where are the 20 fsport single missions coming from then?
And if I download fsport singles, where should they go?

Thanks for your patience!

fsport-missions.vp. Along with the campaign missions.

\freespace2\fsport\data\missions\

Ah... that's great.
Thanks.

As for high noon.... Wow.. those ships are fantastic.
That's the feeling of awe I was looking for!

There is a remake for Their Finest Hour too. You would probably be interested in it.
Here is the release thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=61153.20

It just occured to me if you want to fly a 6km long ship in the game more easily, just pick any fighter you like and make it looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. God, the pencil dick fighter would be so hard to gun down too.

I like big ships and I cannot lie
You other players can't deny
When a Colly jumps in in the middle of a fight
With a big beam in your sight
You get tooled, and taken to school
Cause BFGreens just rule...
And that's as far as I got.  I was going to finish and post this last week, but I had second thoughts when I realized how long the song was. :nervous:

You know if you want more capital ships then I can recommend "The Second Great War Part 2" or whatever that was called, the one with all the Battle of Endor style missions and crappy story.
