hello recently I have begun my mod on the engine of battlefield 2
but i need models to create weapons for the marines.
if you have :
-ml 16
-avenger
-flail
-banshee
-distruptor
-prometheus
-interceptor
-tsunami
-valkyrie
-amun
-horus
-medusa
-marine (already create but my marine is maybe more ugly than your marine
contact me please ! ;)

I like the idea of a Marine on foot carrying a Tsunami. :D
What model format do you need? I'm sure someone can oblige you with converting them from POF.

First off, any modding work is greatly commendable, so mad props. :yes:
However, I do wonder: is BF2 really the best platform for a FS mod? In all truthfulness, something like the Half-Life engine would be better as it supports the physics which make space flight doable in a shooter - I've seen it done before. However, that doesn't help your cause, so I'll drop this point. :D

i will try to make my mod with HL2
i'didn't knowwe can fly with in the space with the HL2 engine .
and yes i'will convert pof to cob for the ships
but for the weapons ; marines and vasudans ... i can't convert because i haven't models :D

Well, arcade space flight is certainly not impossible with a BF engine, as "First Strike" (a mod for BF2142) proves:

However, I've seen a great many developments for combat flight with the Half-Life 2 engine:

There's others you can find as well. I recall my roomate from the year prior having a mod which was a 3rd person dogfight sim set in early WWII - you can do a lot with the HL2 engine. Also, I believe there's some mobility restrictions with BF, so HL2 might be a better choice for development.
However, you should keep in mind that I don't use or play either of the games - I've watched gameplay, of course, but I'm primarily reporting on the functionality I've observed and read about.

the problem with HL² is i don't know how to launch the mods .
what 's your opinion on the quake 3 engine or the UT3 engine ?
Another idea is to arise from a mission fs 2; on planets
(a jump or other node)
the problem is that I should change the build of Freespace 2 to toggle it on an engine and it launches a proper map.

I've only seen and read about BF and HL mods in action, so I can't help you with the other programs. Also, there was a team about here somewhere working on something called "FreeSpace: Close Quarters" or something to that effect. Before setting off on an entirely new project, perhaps you could check out the status of some similar projects first?

We don't have any character models yet. Secondary weapons you can grab from the FreeSpace Port Media VPs, but there are only two or three primary weapons that have models. It's best to start from scratch, I think.

I *believe* you could with POF Constructor Suite 2, then convert to something like a 3ds... wait... no... You need to convert 3ds to cob to work in pcs2... so my entire comment was bullcrap...
what was that stuff a while back about collada?

i don't know how to export / import files in truespace
i say it because i prefer blender and 3ds than truespace

There is a newer version of PCS2 that allows exporting the models to dae. Blender's Collada 1.4 importer can handle that without issues.

Had you followed this link: http://the158th.hard-light.net/spicious/pcs2.7z from the wiki page I linked to, you would have it now.
I know you are not fluent in english, but this is taking it a bit far.

It is included in the original PCS2 (found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/alliance/files/POF%20Constructor%20Suite/2.0.3/PCS2_2.0.3_2008-05-15.exe/download ). Download that, install it, then replace the pcs2.exe with the one from the archive.

A FPS based on the HL2 engine is already in the makes. If you feel that you'd be more successful, then go ahead and do your own, but if you want to help the one already in the makes, then drop a post here. http://www.game-warden.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=93 I was also taking into consideration using the Unreal Beta SDK, but for now, HL2 will work.
If nobody knew about this, I'm sorry. :( I thought that I or someone else would have informed the HLP public.

Does anybody else find marines carrying strikecraft weapons strange? I mean, those guns mounts are huge, bigger than the pilot even. And if you're fighting inside of a ship, it's probably in your best interest to not use weapons that can pierce the hull.

the pilot passes through a node jump and ends up in the atmoshpere of a planet in Battle

I recommend for using a game engine of which the source code has been released. This is when you can have a mod become a stand alone product if you want it to be.

I didn't find any equivalent of bf2. If I would have been ,I would have used it
do you know any format with I can modify my ships ? because with my current format , I only can modify one part of my ship .

What's special about the bf2 engine if you'd be so kind to answer?
One thing i know about people and a load of free game engines is that they won't do a thing to get off their ass and look themselves unless someone else does it for them.
I ask that question about bf2 because i'm genuinely interested in knowing why you choose it. I say the second comment because it happens to be true.

i choose it because on the bf2 engine we can fly with planes .
however , if ytou have another engine for me , i agree .
