Title: Basic Making Debris Tut =For Review=
Post by: JGZinv on March 08, 2010, 09:19:13 am
Ok it's not the Max/PCS2 Debris tut, I'm still trying to work on that.
But our main modeler for FringeSpace was helping us by putting together
a short tut on how to make up the geometry for good looking debris chunks,
so I PDF'd it so it could be shared. Eventually I'll pack it together with the updated
standard and debris ver. pcs2 tuts.

So for the moment, it's up for review. If any of the modelers here want to take a look,
see if there's any comments you want to add or correct, I'll add them in.

Note:
I'm already aware the pictures are kinda blurry, wasn't me that took the captures
and I've only got one program that'll export as PDF. Ain't much I can do there and
it's better than nothing. Already tried cutting some of them down in PS so I could zoom
on the main focus of the image.

Quick look, sounds about right....

BTW there is an easier way to patch up holes in Max... in fact two ways...
a.) Use border mode, this will draw a lasso around the hole.

if that fails or too difficult then there's
b.) go to edge mode, select two lines that aren't connect (for example one line on one side and another line on the opposite side) then use Bridge

thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can add something about those in.

Actually they're very useful not just for building debris.  :)
