According to this (http://www.tvovermind.com/tv-news/numb3rs-plots-series-finale/12936) season 6 is the last one, and with the last episode airing last week, it means it's done, over, gone. I really don't understand why it was cut short, given that it was still one of CBS's best rated shows. So, was this just down to the executive's stupidity (ie, the 4400's all over again), or what happened?

Maybe someone wised up and realized that most (not all) series start sucking after the fifth season.

A large percentage can start sucking after the second or third. I'd really actually like it if some series ended when they ran out their original tank of gas. Rather than Heroes : let's save the world... AGAIN!

I got that sinking feeling that they're angling to replace Gibbs on NCIS with a Lady Gibbs who's exactly the same character, just female.
But, yeah, this was kinda sad.
