Hey
I have played Age of Aquarius and it is one of the best Fan works I ever played.
The Story is absolutly great but I won to know whats now.
Please can you say me how long we have to wait befor we can play the second part of your epic campaign.
-
Hang in there. War in Heaven has been in development for slightly under a year. We're nearing a point where we may be able to release something, and progress has been excellent, but we're not ready to pick a release date quite yet.
Around May 9th will be the mod's one-year anniversary, at which point I think we'll try to give a State of the Mod update with some hard numbers.
Glad you enjoyed it, too.

WiH has one of the most formidable development cycles ever in an FS mod, though. What these guys output in a month is equivalent to what most mod teams do in half a year.

Thats true AoA is a great mod for freespace2 but i'm seriously jonesing for WiH. It would be great to finally play a faction that can dish out some damage to the GTVA. In my opinion most other factions (other than the shivans) can't stand head-o-head with the GTVA.
Plus i can't wait to see the damage the UEF rail guns do to raynor or aeolus cruiser mwaaahhahahaha.

Actually there is an awesome sneak preview of WiH Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0), check out that Raynor class going!

can we PLEASE move past that meme?

Vir in Heaven...

that was when he told Morden that he would like to see his head on a pike.
it comes true
oh, wow, I just really had to say that.
-
Vir in Heaven...
It's wir.
Somebody get RepliWeir in here.
-
Man, that plot thread.
-
Yeah, Babylon 5...
I love the Morden-Vir relationship.
"I wanna live long enough to see how they cut off your head and stick it on a pike, as a sign that some favours come with too high a price. I wanna look up into your lifeless eyes and wave like this <see picture>. Can you and your associates arange that for me mister Morden?"
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Erm... short of dying? No? Sorry, can't think of anything else"
Good times...
Anyway back on topic: Will WiH be immediately released with voice acting, or will it come in two steps?
-
It has been said many times already that WiH is unlikely to be voice acted ever. The amount of dialogue is simply too high.
-
Not to say it won't be insanely cool if it did have it..

If it wasn't for the sub-forum this is in, I'd have thought it was a new helicopter mod......(Whirr in Heaven).
:nervous:

I agree, AoA was great even before it got voice acted.
But should you decide to try and voice WiH after it's released, I'll be happy to help with a minor role again :)
-
I thought it was an April fools' joke, but saw it was posted before April 1st... Someone who is able, please change misleading thread title :(
Something like "WiH release date?" or whatever
-
;-)
-
Adding a question mark indicates a question. It would no more mislead people into thinking there was a release date than the current title.
EDIT: I am referring Aardwolf's suggestion.
-
;-)
-
Yes, I'm asking if it should be changed to that. It was a question. Also, when you use words like 'how, what, when, where, and why', those are the words used in questions.
Edit: Oh, I missed that question mark in his suggestion or didn't give it much thought. I guess changing the thread title to that is a good idea.
Also, a better question would be to ask how much work needs to be done and never ask for a release date since no one can ever know for sure when it will be released unless it was a company who had no choice but to release it on schedule, and even then, one can't be sure.
I like being right :D

;7 seriously !?!?!??!
-
Seriously though, a few videos can be found here as well: http://www.moddb.com/mods/blue-planet-war-in-heaven
(Of course, they can also be found on the forum, if you look hard enough).
-
Bah, I've been lurking these forums long enough to know that it'll be done when it's done, and the more time they spend on it the more grateful we'll be!

The page seems to miss the UED Solaris (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxhvPas5Bwk) and Darkest hour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3DVvKHq9ss), but then I guess they are too outdated by now to be put there.
-
Yep. As it stands, they are nowhere near representative for how WiH looks and sounds at the moment.
-
God damn those videos are old! And ugly. Even the moddb videos look outdated.
-
It's nice to see the humble (yet still awesome, might I say) beginnings of WiH.
EDIT: How many typos can you have in one post?! *facepalms*
-
Yep. As it stands, they are nowhere near representative for how WiH looks and sounds at the moment.
You guys need to come up with some replacements for those then, considering having some epic videos helps create hype (well, even more hype).
-
Not a bad notion. Bear in mind that we're hurtling forward at a startling pace, though - building hype is less of a priority when the real deal is shaping up so nicely.
A beta tester could probably grab some awesome clips, but we have to be careful not to spoil our most magnificent moments.

-
That dialog is hugely out of date and best considered placeholder.
-
I watched some of the video and kept pausing it to read some dialog. It looks like we don't play as Samuel, at least not through the entire campaign. Oddly enough, there is a person named Manuel, which is a very similar name, but maybe not the player; just a wingmate.
It has been said quite a few times already that Samuel Bei is not the player character in this campaign.
-
;-)
-
No. And we won't. Whether he appears or not is something you'll have to find out when playing the campaign.
-
I suppose the same is also true for re-appearance of the former 14th battlegroup ships, right?
-
;-)
