...

What else shows up?

Are your CDs in good condition?
What operating system are you using?
When during the install process do these messages appear?

um, Something about the VPs. Like something about Moving the Files.

The 2 Operating systems I tried (and failed) on are XP and Vista.

My CDs seem to be ok. I dont see any problem with them too.

Please be specific. "Something about the vps" tells us exactly nothing. And if your CDs are in good condition, why don't you run the installer on those discs to install the game?

ComponentMoveDataError:

Media Name: Data
Component: Disc 1a-minimum
File Group: Basic Install Files
File: Sparky-fs2.vp
Error Number: -106

The Error -117 is basicly the same thing but diffrent File Group, Component, and File are diffrent.

A quick Google search suggests that both errors are caused by faulty data on the discs. Try cleaning them thoroughly, with a good clean cloth.

In case that doesn't work, try extracting the vps from the .cab files manually. If that fails, well, you can get a copy of FS2 for 6$ at GoG.com.
