OK, I've began my "descent" campaign (check the general forum)by a little mod, one of the funniest robots of this game IMO:

It works, it's quite buggy (some clipping), but it's not a big deal and can be fixed easily. And yes, I know, the maps aren't put in a very nice way, this one is just a test.

sorry, this link works better. This bot is the one on the Descent2 Box I think, it's in the 2 firsts, maybe in the third one, I don't know.
For once, you won't fight it, anyway, you'll protect it. The plot features the descent mining company, and others, competiting (fighting?) to rule over the remnants of the Earth economy, after the Sol node colapsed.
To be honest, Descent ships will act as guest stars, you will fly the Pyro ships only latter in the campaign. You'll begin with old retrofited FS1 ships saled to privates. Smugglers, pirates and mercs are the main characters outhere, along with rich trust leaders. I'll make some civil ships, too. That will be easy, they need no turret, not thrusters, just a model and a map, so I can do about one per day. I've already draw the sketches for a personal shuttle, a civil freighter and a Starliner. But I'll begin with reskining the FS1 ships so they look more "savage" (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

OK, I'm planning to add the apollo, the valkyrie, the athena and the angel (a model I did for Ace), all in 3 different color schemes, because I have all the place I want in the tbl file (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) (no shivans in my campaign). I try to put all the names in the credit.txt file, I hope I won't forget anyone :þ

I have a cool mine like in decent working. It shakes, there's expolsions everywhere, and without shields, it's not that easy to go out in time before the super nova goes boum (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) (btw I would need to change the text for the supernova count down... possible?)

Thunder, hey, didn't you notice lol, I answered last week to the topic you posted some times ago. Well, about hosting it at HLP, that would be cool, but I don't have a site for it and I really suck at doing that (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) (look the one in my sig...)
QWMX: hem... I don't plan to make a 100% descnet mod, better buy the game, otherwise. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) In my campaign, it will feature "some" things like this (one or two mines), otherwise it will be a more common campaign. About this particular mission, I think I'll release it soon, with a modified apollon. I just need to fix some events.
That's a very simple corridor, in fact, not very interesting, but I think it's worth having a look at it ( you'll play it only once, I bet, anyway :þ )

That's a cruise liner. Well I suppose it's called this way (I called that a starliner lol). A kind of "Star Titanic", if you want. I just made them for the "mood", they have no subsystems, no debris, no LOD, that's just a model, I took the faustus tbl and deleted all the turret entries, if my memory serves me well.

Funny what happens, sometimes... In Descent, it's told that the pyro the player is using is a "modified Pyro GX". So I though I would do the regular one, too. And I began to modify my model to make the Pyro LX (the Hellix). Finally, I got something that don' look so much like the Pyro... And I just thiught that if it was "a modified pyro GX", the original was also called GX (I'm not very clear lol). All that to say that finally, I'll have that new ship called the Hellix (Pyro GX), the "normal" Pyro GX, and the modified one from descent, the Pyro GX "Vertigo". Well, I'm not sure. I suppose anyway that indoor missions will be very limited, but I think that with more mobility ( movement allowed in the 3 axis), the AI may handle better difficult environments (usually it does try to avoid impact, but with the speed and all, it's often too late). I'll do a level test, with some big rooms linked by tunnels, and a true bot (you may have noticed that the lifter bots in my demo are just models that replace the TC2 cargo... not very challenging (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif))

I was borred, and watched some internet forums, I didn't know what do do, so I grabbed the spinning weapons bitmaps from the game, and made spinning anis for the techroom. For now I have the GAUSS gun (my favourite (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) ) and the Mega missile. I never heard of other spinning weapon anis, btw, did other people made some?
