Title: Windows - No Disk error
Post by: Renegade Paladin on April 28, 2010, 12:00:33 am
Well, the error it gives me says:
Code: [Select]
Windows - No Disk

Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c

Cancel  Try Again  Continue

If I click Cancel it cancels, Try Again produces the same box again, and Continue opens the launcher without further problems.  Running the game from the launcher gives the exact same error again; once again, Continue starts the game without problems.  The game still crashes after deleting the old VPs; the crash occurs after signing in as a pilot.  Breaking into the debugger takes me to the main menu, only it's black; I can navigate it by remembering the position of the buttons on the screen.

That is Windows bug, nothing to do with FSO or launcher. Search google for "Windows - No Disk" and you'll get a ton of probable causes and instructions to fix them.

I'm splitting this topic and moving your issue to FS Support.

I had this error, I assume you have a memory card reader built in to your pc like me. You can just ignore the issue and click continue like I do. Windows is just telling you that there is no card in the reader. Just click continue and enjoy.

I've a feeling I'm missing some drivers for the card reader that corrects this, maybe you are too!

(Funnily enough, it only happens when starting the launcher for FSOpen, never for anything else) *Shrugs*

Yeah, I have a card reader that has not worked from day one of having this computer.  Don't know why it's acting up now; it's shown no sign of even acknowledging its own existence before.

I think I fixed mine actually, I downloaded a Via Raid driver, seems to have done the trick!

No more no-disk error.

I know this is an old one but it lead me to the correct solution. I had a virtual DVD Drive mounted with Dameware. As soon as I unmounted that virtual DVD drive, it fixed the issue so that it no longer gave the insert disk error when I launched the game.

Glad it helped :)
