That is, if you've actually played any of them...
Worms 1
Worms 2
Worms World Party
Worms Armageddon
Worms 3D
Worms 4
I can't decide between Worms 2, WWP or Armageddon - they seem similar, but are different somehow...
Edit: just to chime in, it's 'Worms Armageddon'. Armagetron is an awsum GPL lightcycles game.
Oops! Fixed. I like GLTron better in terms of the original graphics + modding capability, except you can't make the map as huge...I wasn't overly excited by by experiences with Armagetron...maybe I had the wrong one...
-
I've spent the most time with World Party.

WWP is the only one i have played.
-
I think we all know that Armageddon is best closely followed by world party. . . .
Armageddon had the most weapons, World Party let me play it on the train.
The rest are inconsequential. Although it goes without saying that I tip my hat to Team 17 for making the original or we'd have none of them.

Worms 1, the Director's Cut. Graphics got way better later on, but I never had the same sheer fun out of them as I did with the original. Even now, it is not uncommon when my brother is visiting for me to fire up an amiga emulator and challenge him to a showdown, a challenge which he gladly accepts :D
-
(not played worms 4)
i probably have the most hours clocked on the origional but i think WWP is the best as i thought armagedon was not as well polished in some respects
-
Old lady.
That's all I need.
Not like that.
Also since 90-whenever I always field the same team.
The Autobots, featuring Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz and Hound.
-
ive probably played all of those, but i always go back to armageddon.
worms 4 was pretty cool, in that it was 3d. kinda had that red faction geomod feel. other than that, it was just generally annoying.
-
Armageddon FTW.

Agreed. DC is definitely the best of the lot. I still laugh when people mention that Worms is a PC game.

I remember playing a burned copy of Worms 3. Ah, that was fun with its Cluster Banana Bombs, Concrete Donkeys, and of course, the Holy Hand Grenade.
-
concrete donkey ftw!
-
I've played 'em all, and Armageddon is the one that gets the most right. :)
-
Armageddon is my favorite, and I don't really see that much difference with WWP, so it's worth a go as well. Worms on the Xbox Live Arcade isn't bad either.

IMO, Armageddon was the best because it did nearly everything right, while WWP was really more of the same, so it really didn't add much new to the franchise.

Liero. :warp:
-
I played worms 3d and was not impressed. The 2d worms had it going on though.
Hedgewars (http://www.hedgewars.org/) the free opensource rip off of worms.
Openlierox (http://www.openlierox.net/) the free opensource rip off of liero.
Play them for free if you don't actually have the real games?
-
That Hedgewars is exactly the same except for the part that is supposed to be a worm...
...but the worms are what make the game I think...
-
Armageddon's the best by far.
Also since 90-whenever I always field the same team.
The Autobots, featuring Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz and Hound.
I always stuck with the same team - team name varied, but the same core troops:
Deathstorm, Concrete, Brickwork, Freezeezy and Slaphappy - usually stuck them with Afross, Stoofer and Scotty from the autogen set.
Poor old Slaphappy, never seemed to survive until his turn... even if I had to shoot him myself to maintain the cycle.
-
and we cannot forget the almighty sheep
-
Sheepz rulez ok
-
I do enjoy the ninja-rope dynamite combo more than anything. and tactical Girder placement.
-
That has to be Worms +.
Though I didn't play it in Amiga. I also never managed to play Scorched Earth, so Worms was the first of the genre for me, if you don't count the QBasic's monkeys throwing explosive bananas game. Molez is still the best of buddy teasing games that I have played. Too bad they didn't develop it a bit further.

Is there a way to get the trail without having to use that download client?
